Jane Campion is set to be honored at this year’s Locarno Film Festival - the Oscar winning filmmaker will receive the Pardo d’Onore Manor Award for lifetime achievement at the upcoming fest in August. Says artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro: “Campion has sustained genuine complexity in her artistic practice, free to weave a dialogue with audiences, and with the film industry in which she works without ever compromising on her vision and her artistic ambitions.” A 4K restoration of Campion’s “The Piano” will also screen at the festival.
A reimaginging of “9 to 5” is currently in development with Jennifer Aniston attached to produced through her Echo Films banner, along with partner Kristin Hahn. Further details are to come, though Diablo Cody has been enlisted as scribe, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut has a trailer. “Blink Twice” stars Channing Tatum as a tech billionaire who invites Frida (Naomi Ackie) to his private island, where she starts to question her reality. Alia Shawkat, Adria Arjona, and Geena Davis also star. Kravitz co-wrote the script with E.T. Feigenbaum. The film is set to hit theaters August 23.
