NEWS & HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
“Taurasi,” a three-part docuseries about WNBA Star and Olympic Gold Medalist Diana Taurasi - who retired in 2024 - has been greenlit at Amazon Prime Video, Deadline has revealed. Katie Bender Wynn will direct and exec produce the documentary, which will follow the former shooting guard and point guard’s journey to the top, and feature interviews with Taurasi, her family, teammates, and coaches, and journalists who followed her career.
Filmmaker Nia DaCosta has revealed her next project, feature film “Hedda,” - a reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s famed 1891 stage play “Hedda Gabler,” about a newlywed woman stifled by societal norms - is set for release this October. Speaking at the second annual screenwriting festival Storyhouse in Dublin, Ireland, DaCosta shared that she was ready to make the film following her experience working in the studio system, directing Marvel’s “The Marvels.” Tessa Thompson, with whom DaCosta worked on her directorial debut, “Little Woods,” stars in the project.
